Successful Schools Program
Program Statement:
IMPACT supports school counselors, teachers, and administrators by providing counseling and behavioral aid services to youth that have been identified by the schools as being "at-risk."
IMPACT provides individual and group counseling services designed to reduce the conflicts and problem behaviors exhibited by students. IMPACT provides this service to children who need extra time, attention, and support.
Topics discussed with youth include:

- FEELINGS
- ANGER MANAGEMENT
- CONFLICT RESOLUTION
- TRUST
- FRIENDSHIP
- SELF-ESTEEM
- DRUG AWARENESS
- GRIEF/LOSS
- DIVORCE & OTHER FAMILY ISSUES
Referral Process
IMPACT provides counselors to schools in the Birmingham/Jefferson County area that have identified a need for additional counseling services.
Children that have been identified as "at-risk" or special education students are referred to the program by special education coordinators, teachers, school counselors, and administrators.
Children can receive services on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis as needed.
